INSURANCE & BILLING
Do I need to call my insurance company before I call you?
No. Call us first. Your insurance company actually prefers you get a restoration company on-site immediately to stop further damage from occurring. The faster we respond, the less damage there is, which can reduce your overall claim. We work directly with your insurance carrier and can assist you through the entire claims process. If you do not have insurance or choose not to file a claim, we also provide transparent self-pay estimates.
RESPONSE TIME
How quickly can you respond to an emergency?
We answer emergency calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays. When you call, you reach our team directly, not an answering service. We dispatch as quickly as possible and work around your schedule to begin mitigation. With water damage especially, time is critical. The sooner we begin, the better the outcome and the lower your total cost.
BEFORE WE ARRIVE
What should I do right before you arrive?
Safety first. If there is standing water, turn off electricity to affected areas before entering. If you can safely do so, shut off the water source to stop ongoing flooding. Do not use a regular vacuum to remove water. Take photos and video of all visible damage before moving anything. This documentation is important for your insurance claim. Do not throw anything away. Move valuables and electronics to dry areas if safe, but otherwise wait for our team.

INSURANCE & BILLING
Will my insurance cover this?
Most homeowner and commercial insurance policies cover sudden and accidental damage from events like burst pipes, appliance failures, storm damage, fire, and smoke. Policies typically do not cover damage from long-term neglect or deferred maintenance. We have extensive experience working with insurance carriers and can help you understand your coverage, prepare documentation, and navigate the claims process. If your claim is denied, we complete emergency services at no charge, a policy we believe no other restoration company in this region offers.
TIMELINE
How long will the restoration process take?
Every job is different, but as a general guide: minor water damage affecting one room typically dries in 1 to 3 days. Moderate damage such as a burst pipe with saturated walls or flooring usually takes 3 to 5 days. Major losses involving flooding, sewage, or structural damage can take 7 or more days. Our technicians monitor moisture levels throughout the entire process and do not sign off until your property meets verified pre-loss dry standards, not just feeling dry.
SCOPE OF WORK
Do you do the repairs too, like drywall and flooring?
Our focus is restoration: returning your property to a verified pre-loss condition that is fully clean, dry, and ready to be put back together. We handle everything through the mitigation and restoration phase including demolition of unsalvageable materials when necessary. Repair services such as drywall, flooring, and finish work are available on select jobs. We will discuss the full scope with you during your free assessment.
LICENSING & CREDENTIALS
Are you licensed and certified to do this work?
Yes. Master Restoration holds some of the most comprehensive credentials in the state. Our owner Jarrett Dixon is an IICRC Master Water Restorer and IICRC Master Fire and Smoke Restorer with 12 individual IICRC certifications. The company holds active Florida licenses as a Registered Building Contractor (RB29003666), Certified Residential Contractor (CRC1331663), Licensed Mold Remediator (MRSR900), and operating permits for biohazard and biomedical waste handling. DURING THE PROCESS
Can I stay in my home during the restoration?
It depends on the severity and type of damage. For minor water losses in a contained area, remaining in your home is often possible. For major losses, sewage backups, fire damage, or situations involving hazardous materials, temporary relocation may be necessary for your safety. Our team will give you an honest assessment during the initial walkthrough. If relocation is needed, your insurance policy may cover temporary living expenses. Ask your carrier about Additional Living Expenses (ALE) coverage.
RESPONSE TIME
Will mold grow if I wait?
Yes. Mold can begin developing within 24 to 72 hours after water intrusion, even in areas you cannot see. This is one of the most important reasons not to wait. Insurance policies also contain language requiring property owners to take immediate action to prevent further damage. Delayed mitigation can result in a denied or reduced claim on top of a more serious and costly mold problem. When in doubt, call us for a free assessment.
